B&O worth it or not?

I personally ordered my car without the B&O, i was looking however for some feedback (as i will be ordering a new car soon) from those on the forum who have the upgraded sound-system.
Any thoughts so far? Was it worth it the 3700 USD? pros and cons?
Thanks in advance for the feedback and happy holidays.

For me I couldn't justify the price for the b&o. I passed.

If $3700 matters to you, then you should pass. It isn't good value, but it is very very good.

I think for the most part I've read people on here saying its not worth it. I however disagree, I'm thrilled with it. I also think it depends what u listen to. If you are listening to the radio, not much of a difference. Listening to cd's is incredible!

So wait, you already bought a 2013 F10 M5 and are now going to order another one?

This topic has been discussed before ad nauseum, but I will indulge you sir. I chose the Bang & Olufsen system for my M5. Here's why I am happy with my decision.

- The sound of the system is incredible, although I have never heard the stock F10 M5 system so I can't compare the two.
- Everybody always asks, what that thing on top of the dash.
- A great additional talking point when showing the M5 to my friends and the public. Most people are flabbergasted when I tell them how much it costs. Lol!

I love the system and for me, it helps to make up for the lack of some beautiful V10 music that the E60 M5 used to play. Instead I can now listen to my music in some epic clarity and fidelity that I have never heard before. Whenever I go for a drive, I am always blasting the music and enjoying the experience as I utilize over 500ft/lbs of torque. I've even taken girls on dates before and say they love my M5 for its sound system also. In fact one girl even asked if she could bring a regular music CD for us to listen to on our next date. Lol!

In the end, yes a complete waste of money, but I decided a long time ago, that I only live once, and I might as well enjoy my time on earth listening to the best quality of music as I drive the F10 M5. But, like I said, to me it really really helps make up for that lack of V10 music, which I miss so very much.

The other point is that the standard Harmon Kardan system is pretty poor. I refuse to drive a 114k car with the same sound system as a Jeep.

I like mine. Sounds pretty good. I'm not going to win audio competition shows but I can sound good and look good with my spacers.

Howard Stern sounds the same in my M5 with B&O as it does in my Sequoia.

I should burn a cd just to hear the system tho. Wait a minute. My laptop doesn't even have a disc drive. WTF.

B&O - my opinion - definitely would not do it again. If someone out there loves it please share your EQ settings with me.

I have had 2 f10 m5's one with the b&o and one without, i can say i'm really glad my 2nd one has the b&o, world of difference. if you don't know any better you might be ok with the the standard but you couldn't go backwards. also its really cool how the center channel pops up from the dash.

Thank you all so very much for your input.
RPiM5, im not getting another M5, Im actually going to order an M6 coupe and have been going back and forth on whether or not to get the B&O.
I'm not interested in telling my friends how much the upgrade cost, nor am I interested in what the system looks like. Unfortunately, I am not so thrilled with the regular sounds system in my M5 F10 (but also have previously heard mixed reviews on the B&O) which is why I am asking the members of this forum for their opinion. Unfortunately I've never sat in the E60, but i've heard some amazing things about V10 music
Again, thank you all for your comments!

i've seen a lot of critical reviews of the b&o but most if not all of those revolve around price, take that out and i think you'll be hard pressed to find somebody that isn't happy with the sound.

Sound system in a car isn't that important to me. As long as it doesn't sound too crappy, I'm ok. If I want to enjoy music, I'd use my system at home.
So, with that extra $$, B&O is 'NO' for me.

I am so glad I got the B&O!
First, it looks awesome and brings smile upon my face whenever I see the shinny speakers, especially the one that pops up from the front dash board.
Second, sound is incredible! However you need to play around and find the equalizer setting that works for you... To be frank, this took me awhile to figure out but I love how my music sounds in my car now.
Last, in my opinion, what makes premium sound system really different is when you are listening to a CD quality music at a high volume while your car is traveling at a fast speed.
If I were to reorder my car, I would definitely get B&O again!
It's really good and car is the best place to listen to music in my opinion.
