Thanks for the info! Has anyone been able to code exhaust valves/flaps to remain open?

Is it the same with B&O, HK and the standard speaker setup? I've read for the M3/M4 guys that with HK it is a single plug but you can't do it with some of the audio options.

Just for clarification, you pull the whole plug from the module correct?
I know this is an older post but I am going to disable the ASD after reading this post!! Thanks in advance

Just curious, so we can't just code the ASD off?

I unplugged mine as well. When I was getting my 45K mile service done, I asked the dealer to update the software in my car, and they said they couldn't because the ASD has been unplugged.

Anyone else experience this? Or is the dealer BS'ing me?

He is BS'ing you. I had them updated the software several times after unplugging the ASD

Rusnak BMW is sunny southern California? With Scott Smith? Next time ask for Trish, she'll hook it up. Unplugged ASD? No worries...

Has anyone with the stock exhaust (non CP) tried this? I'm intrigued but just wondering if it's worth it with the stock exhaust?

Interesting... I might give this a try tomorrow. To be honest I haven't noticed too much droning, but maybe I'll notice it NOT being there once I give this a try.

where I live the roads are poor, most of the time my car is sitting around 60ish mph and the drone really gets to me. On the motorways up over 70mph its fine so the annoying drone may not be an issue for you depending where your car spends most of its time cruising at.

You have drone w/ catted dp’s and stock Non-comp exhaust? I couldn’t get the stock exhaust off my car quick enough; very underwhelming exhaust IMO. Disabling ASD certainly provides a quieter more natural tone.

I am old and hate drone lol Everything standard on my car currently. I like a loud'ish car but not when cursing. I usually run Milltek and the last few have been valved, so quiet when cruising but plenty noise when valves open. I guess the fake noise just hits the wrong spot for my ears.
