Shift-S3ctor Races and Videos
I attended the California Shift-S3ctor races yesterday with my 2014 M5 CP. Mods are Pure S1 turbos, tune + JB4, 100-octane + Meth. Rest of the car is stock except for the standard exhaust work. Car is probably north of 760hp and 820 torque at the wheels. Best 60-130 is 6.2s VBOX verified.
Some background on how the day was going. Rather warm in the afternoon and there were a lot of exotic cars. To get a view of how to compare, here is how the Exotics were running in the 1/2 mile. Bugatti Veyron SuperSport : 172mph McLaren P1 : 171mph Porsche 918 : 172 mph McLaren 650 : 164 McLaren MP4-12C : 152-153 Stock GTR : 140 Stock F10 M5 : 140 My best run of the day was 167.8mph - good enough to win 2nd place in the BMW/AMG class. 1st place went to Kenton's 1000+ hp E46M3 who ran 178mph. Traction was horrible even on 315/30/20 R888's - usually by 3rd it held and its visible in some of the videos that's when I start moving hard! I did out-trap Drew Johnson's build ESS M3 (he ran a 166mph best). Very stand-up guy and has been the benchmark for BMW's the past few years. Logs and all the technical details are on N54Tech: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...969#post416969 Videos: Me vs. stock Z06 Me vs. built NA Z06 Me vs. tuned Lambo Huracan (he out-launched me but reeled him hard at the end) M3 vs. my friend's 500whp Evolve E60 M5 (he makes north of 500whp). This was a rolling start and punched it somewhere in 3rd (its obvious when) Last edited by allmotor_2000; 10-27-2015 at 06:12 PM.. |

Nice... with 1/2 mile run at 167 mph you must have one of the fastest M5 in the world

Edit: Maybe with Pzero Corsa you can reach 170 mph... Corsa with UTQG: 60 AA A is 40% softer than R888

Beautiful job man! I really think you must have THE fastest F10 M5 in the world or at least in the Top 5. I can't think of anyone who might be faster than you.
What you did to that C7 Z06 was crazy, and then that Evolve E60 M5, train lengths doesn't even describe it. Were there any of the latest generation Audi's there? There have been claims that there are RS6's and RS7's running around in the world pushing 900hp to the crank with tunes and mods. I personally doubt such power, but it would've been great to disprove such claims with your car. It's great to see an M5 obliterate almost everything short of a McLaren P1 or 918 Spyder without having to resort to 1,000hp numbers.

Thx - no Audi's this time. Maybe S6 but nothing really that quick. The fastest M5/M6's were running 155-157 mph. I'd put that around 100-150whp less.
I don't think anybody has pushed it this hard - you need upgraded clutches/turbos at a minimum for this power level and I can only think of one other car (in Singapore) that has this and he is dialing the car in (it has a lot of potential!). We will get to the Bugatti SS level by next Apr! |

Yeah the Z06 had a poor launch but he was running at least 15mph less traps all day irrespective of launch. The lambo was around 9-10mph less.
Funny this is the M5 forum and everybody is concerned about the vette! Last edited by allmotor_2000; 10-26-2015 at 02:10 PM.. |

Great work Ram! It was time for me to move aside and let the new guys (M's) get some love and trophies! I know how much you've put into your M5 to get it at this level, and you're 2nd place trophy was more than well deserved. Terry's M4 will eventually get there, the guy is flat out the real deal with these cars and such a great guy.
My car ran well, but just not as fast as before when I hit 174 a year ago, but still, like yours reeled in some fast cars. Going from a dig, it's just tough to get the car going until 3rd, as you know. I may turn it up at the next event, add a bigger blower, rear ice tank, or retire the Red Baron from racing, lol, it's had it's day at these events. It was hot on Saturday, and I only was able to get a few runs in, but such a good time and worth it. I have a great video of my son riding with me in the car, as we reel in a modified 991 Turbo S PDK. Again great job brother, keep up the good work and I appreciate the kind words!

Great vids BTW, did you managed to get any actual rolling starts? I didn't get any. We both would do really well there, even cars that out trapped me by 6 MPH I would run with or beat before the cones at the last event I ran at.

although is that 167 mph is it a little misleading? while 15 mph above the mclaren's, i imagine it would still lose in a 1/4 mile against the 12c?(which runs a 10.5 bone stock.) along with about every other conceivable race you would encounter? Last edited by mainly; 10-27-2015 at 05:36 PM.. |

In the 1/4-mile it is traction - and I don't have traction until 3rd gear with R888's. This event is really a horsepower race. I have a set of MT ET Streets for the drag strip. My VBOX 1/4 mile even with a shitty 60-foot traps 136mph. Stock intake with K&N works the best for my setup. Last edited by allmotor_2000; 10-27-2015 at 06:13 PM.. |
