Wiper Blades Rant & a Question

Rant :

Why on a $100k+ vehicle, did the BMW engineers decide to make wiper controls & turn signals which are completely inferior to the most basic of vehicles......

Question:

Is it just me or do our wiper blades only have one speed setting. I was driving home today in a terrential storm and I had ZERO visibility. No matter what I seam to do with the dial on the wiper blades I am only getting one speed which is not fast enough.

How do I get our wiper blades moving faster???

The dial is for the wiper delay in auto mode (depress button on lever, light turns on).
Pull down on the lever to turn on continuous and super speed, then back up to turn off.

Agreed - adjust the speed. I usually keep it at the highest level and enable the auto sensing wipers and it speeds up based on the rain

http://www.aquapel.com/ or RainX plus adjusting the speed of the wipers, will get you through the heaviest of downpours.

I live in the southeastern US where extremely intense rains occur regularly and I don't have the problem you are facing. Familiarize yourself with the wiper settings and see if you can improve the results.

I just verified that I am not crazy. My manual states hit the lever up once for normal speed, and twice for quicker speed. There is no difference between these two settings.

In neither settings are the blade going quick enough to deal with a heavy down pour.

Take it to the dealer and have them diagnose the problem.

Are you simply just hitting the lever back and forth twice or are you bringing it up all the way for it to make two clicks? That might be your problem.
