Paddle Shift Problem
I'm looking to see if you guy can help me out where my dealer is failing me.
The left paddle is having issues. Many times it will not down shift the transmission, even though I'm clearly within the RMP range for a down shift. Sometime if I click the paddle a second or third time it will work. If It grab the stick it will down shift at that moment just fine all the time. The dealer already replaced the paddles and that has not helped. The dealer also says they can see a stored fault code. Going back in again this week and I'm a little concerned they are going to do more head scratching and fixing. Thoughts? Thanks! |

Solenoid/s on the DCT need replacement? Seems I've heard this before...
Edit: Just a guess here...most w/solenoid issues have a Drivetrain malfunction error showing... Last edited by CFisher; 07-11-2014 at 07:05 PM.. |

CFisher, thanks for the thought. I will add that to the list.
Emmfiv3, I'm not sure if it does it in ever gear but it clearly does it in the 2-6 range. Not sure if I have ever seen it happen in 2 to 1, I will give that a try tomorrow and pay better attention. |

OP's issue sounds unrelated to the paddles in mechanical sense.. probably something relating to the trans/shift process/DCT electrical
@emmfiv3 next time you drive try to downshift extreamly slow with the left paddle. See if the car downshifts before your paddle makes an audible noise (pressed fully). Then do the same on the right side and see if the up shift paddle shifts only at the audible click and not before. I experience this with my car, but it doesn't bother me.. almost a beneficial problem to have.

I think yours have some problem with the paddle or the electrical wiring..
since you downshift just fine with the gear knob.
