Yes, just like that, but I hope there will be more to come and having them in a sticky will make them available to all without going through pages of posts. But thank you, I will print your compilation for reference.

  1. You can store your key between the cupholders.
  2. With the M seats you can move the upper part of your backrest separate from the lower part.
  3. When cruising down the highway and needing to accelerate hard, punch the throttle and click the downshift paddle - the car will shift down to the optimal gear for accelerating. For example, it could shift from 7th to 4th in one shift - no need to click the paddle 3 times.
  4. Service menu fun.
Press and hold the odometer reset button and at the same time turn the ignition on by pressing the start stop button. Release the odometer reset button, and you should see a menu of 4 items on the dashboard. From here, use the odometer reset button to advance to the next entry using a short press, and to select the desired entry using a long press.
  5. Move to the one labelled UNLOCK. You will be presented with a passkey screen. The passkey is the sum of the last 5 digits of your VIN. Increment the code by pressing the odometer button until you reach the calculated passkey. Then a long press of the odometer button to select it.With comfort access, when you’re putting something in your trunk, kick under your middle rear bumper and it will activate the trunk latch and open.
  6. You can set your M1 & M2 buttons through settings in iDrive but you can also set the car up the way you want and simply hold the M1 or M2 button down until you hear a beep. Its a lot easier then digging through settings to get it done.
  7. The car horn will honk twice if you don't have it in P and try to lock the doors from the outside.
  8. If you hold the unlock button on the remote it opens your windows. If you press the alarm button for a few seconds the lights come on, if you keep your hand on the door handle it opens or closes your windows. hold the lock button (on remote or door handle) : closes all windows & folds the side mirrors (unfolds automatically when you unlock next time). Once the car’s alarm is switched on, you press the lock button briefly, it de-activates interior motion sensors (in case you leave someone or a pet in the car while locking).
  9. That there is a 5 dvd disc player in the glove compartment. I had to pull the plastic down to reveal it.

Of course I can't make it a sticky.
I dont beleive item #8 applies to the US, without a Coding Hack... Atleast the remote closing part. I beleive the open works.

Right. You can hold down the lock button all day, the side mirrors don't move an inch in the US.

Another one that most already know:

If you quick tap the panic button on the key it will turn on your headlights for a preset amount of time that you can adjust in iDrive settings.

And another one:

You can softly swipe across the preset 1-8 buttons on the dash to see how they are programed. Also, you can program them to do almost anything you want. For example, I have button 1 set to dial my wife's cell phone and the #2 button set to go directly to my favorite ripped music album stored on the hard drive etc...etc... And to clear all the programed buttons, just hold down the 1 & 8 buttons down until you hear a tone.

I also find it useful to preset my home address under one of these button. Not the exact location of course. But where ever I am, I simply press the button and the satnav takes me home.

Very true. I thought it was stored in the navi but discovered on my european delivery that it got the speed limits correct even in constructions zones and it nailed it every time. It is actually reading the signs from a camera on the windshield by the rearview mirror "Connected Drive" area. Pretty damn slick!

There is a power port in the front passenger foot well - I connected my V1 and concealed the cord - not perfect as you have to turn the V1 on and off!

I also learned that you can use the CD player to rip CD's right onto your hard drive. I did this yesterday. Worked like a charm.

Oh, one thing that I also learned this weekend is to not block the back seat footwells with crap. I was keeping a bunch of stuff behind my seat in the back seat footwell, like shirts, bags, cans, etc... Only because my trunk is empty and I didn't want stuff rolling around back there. After about a couple hours of driving, I could feel very hot air rising up from somewhere. I thought that it was coming from the center console. Then my passenger put their hand underneath my seat and said she almost burned her hand, it was so hot down there. We took all the crap from the footwell behind my seat and threw it on top of the back seat. It got cool underneath my seat again pretty quickly. I seriously thought we were going to start a fire in the car, it was so hot!

Did you have seat heaters on? I was amazed on how hot the seats get, even on the lowest setting.

It happened earlier this week. Parked my car, ignition off, remote key still inside the car (in my backpack at the back seat), all 4 doors closed, went for the trunk for something, accidentally pressed the trunk lock button, trunk closed & all doors locked with the remote key inside the car.

Fortunately, the spare key was close by for the rescue.

Didn't know it would lock with remote key inside the car. So, be careful, guys.

If you lock your key in the trunk it pops open after closing. Try it.
