Carbon fiber interior trim
I am considering getting the carbon fiber interior trim to match my mirror caps and spoiler. My car came with piano black that I didn't order so I kind of feel bad replacing it. Will the carbon fiber interior scratch? I don't have the extended leather but out of curiosity how does the carbon fiber interior work with the extended leather since the console is in leather? Finally does anyone have this and what do you think? Does the shift knob come in the package or is that an extra? Thanks

I think carbon fiber trims look great. Especially with the center trims. I had it on my previous M3 in black interior (had carbon fiber splitters, mirror caps and diffuser) and loved it. I think it's great compliment with your exterior carbons.
The pictures are not mine:

Maybe it's just me, I feel uncomfortable with patterns of carbon fibber. A little touch here and there is fine, e.g. Steering wheel and shift nob, but the whole interior trim is too much to watch every time I sit in the car

It's an expensive upgrade for something which actually doesn't solve the scratching problem. I would suggest buying Aluminum trim.
Also to me it doesn't make sense since it's not a structural use of carbon fiber for weight saving.

I recently replaced the aluminum trim for the M Performance carbon trim. So far so good, not crazy glossy and I don’t see scratching as an issue downstream.
Full agreement with the rest of the responses, I only replaced the dash and the doors, the whole enchilada would have been to over the top. I haven’t had time to post the aluminum bits to the classified section however they are for sale
