Your choice
Polaroid sunglasses are designed to block vertically polarized light.
Typically light is random, non-polarized but as soon as it reflects off a horizontal surface like a sea, lake or car hood, the light waves sync up and you get vertically polarized light. As the light reflecting back from the HUD is vertically polarized, polaroid glasses will block it. If you play around with the lenses as suggested above so they only block horizontally polarized light, you'll be able to see the HUD, but the glasses won't block any of the annoying reflections and will be as good as useless as sunglasses. The best solution is non-polarizing sunglasses or prescription lenses that block all UV and attenuate the visible light spectrum. |

I have zero issues with Rayban or Smith polarized lenses and HUD.

My original post was from 2012. The screens and Hud have changed enough that you can see them better now. Also can "polarize " the Hud to fit your sunglasses polarizing.
