This is scary stuff to me. Tuning the S85 V10 would result in 20-30whp but these tunes with bolt-ons are developing ginormous horsepower and torque gains-I think its too much for the drivetrain.

If you want to push it far, need to be prepared to deal with whatever happens.... blown motor, tranny etc.

+1 I was advised by an ex-BMW UK employee that after the warranty company was changed a while back, there was a high degree of probability that they would decline any warranty claim if they discovered any mods.

DSS will offer the M5 1200hp axles. Part # is M5R1 and costs $1199. Need stock axles as cores... takes a few weeks to turn them.

These are a must for any sort of aggressive launching with over 700 wheel torque (or even less I would think)

Oh yeah - I have a set of stockers if someone wants them. PM me.

I will post pics shortly.

I split my entire differential in half along with the drive shaft joint. Was turned to make a u turn, dropped the clutch at literally 1.5K because the road was slightly wet after the rain, and as soon as I dropped it... all I heard was a loud boom with nuts and bolts flying in each direction bouncing off the ground.

Had DP's and BMS

Anyone else experience zero ability to spin tires from a dead stop without hopping the wheels? For me to spin the tires freely, I have to be in scientifically calculated scenarios.

i'm curious as to exactly what his argument was in this case, getting bmw to cover it. (if he kept the mods on the car)

That's surprising. I launched on drag radials and dead hooked with 1000ft-lbs of torque. If something is that weak it would have broken. I am changing axles but not sure if the diff and drive-shaft are also that weak.

I can spin tires anytime - stop, rolling.... even at 100 KMPH :-)
