But you are the one living with the frustration. You did not contract with BMW. You contracted with the dealership.

It is actually BMW's responsibility to tell the local service department how to fix the car, or otherwise dispose of it. I have bought 14 BMWs over the years, and it's disappointing to see a brand I love turn into Mercedes in terms of a "We don't give a shit about our customers" attitude.

sometimes I get this error specially on hot days.

I have night vision with pedestrian detection and collusion warning. I got an error for the night vision and now my night vision works is not detecting pedestrians anymore..it can still detect collisions though.

I talked to my SA and they updated the whole car with latest software but the problem is not solved. my dealer is waiting for more details on this issue from BMW. Not happy at all as they are unable to detect the cause.

I'm so glad I added only heads up display and BMW apps to the build of the car. It's still the best car I've owned without all the electrical trickery, just something more to go wrong in my opinion.

Just a thought about the new self driving cars Mercedes is promoting on television ads. How it that done? Cameras along with GPS perhaps? What happens when the camera, or cameras, are covered with mud, insect parts, or other material from the road? Does the car stop moving and rely on the car following having its collision avoidance system in good order?

One year later, the errors are back with vengeance.

I also attached the error log from my Rheingold diagnostic software.

I've just been to the dealer. They need to change a "small piece (cable)".

If I wanted to get rid of the warning for a day or two, I would open the camera plastic case (behind the mirror) and unplug the big optical cable.

This happens to me when the sun is about to set or rising and is super bright on the horizon. Also happens sometimes in heavy rain.

Didn't you also find that your X5 had a troubled past causing all these Driver Assistant functional issues?
