F06 650 Exhaust vs F10 M5 Exhaust

Before this M5 I had a 650 Gran Coupe, I removed the resonators and the mufflers but kept the stock tips.

I've done the same on the M5 but for some reasons I don't hear the turbos running as cool as my 650 did.

There's close to no turbo sound coming out my exhaust almost have me believeing it's naturally aspirated

First world's problem),
Get air intake, exhaust won't give you turbo spool noise. My 0.02 cents.

You need to remove the cats to hear the turbos...

Pretty sure this was BMW's intention. They wanted to make it as close to a n/a engine as possible.

Thanks man, only reason I'm confused because I didn't have to get a air intake on my 650 and I would hear the turbo whistle through my exhaust when driving or cruising.

I hear none in this, even when I pull off with all windows down.

If "n/a engine" means only engine noise through the exhaust they did a excellent job.

Inside the cabin, you'll rarely be able to hear the turbos even if you remove the cats as your exhaust system would drown it out and the cabin is well insulated. Windows down I used to hear mine.

With a muffler delete and stock cats, the turbo whistle is there and noticeable outside the car clearly. Remove charcoal and add high flow filters or intakes and you should hear it even more. Remove the cats and it will be substantially noticeable.

Here is a video of my old muffler delete. You can hear the turbos.

Here is my exhaust system with catless downpipes. Noticeable difference. Spooling is much louder.
