One Off Carbon Fiber Engine Cover - F10 M5

Just got this in the mail this pass weekend. I just purchased my F10 last year and slowing making some progress of adding some parts. I met up my buddy and visited his factory oversea and he does carbon fiber parts for some mid to high end vehicle. I asked him to make me a CF engine cover and this is what I got.

See what you think?

The works are all 100% handmade with vacuum infused as I toured his factory. All the CF weave are perfectly align with and not discoloring. He also going to make me a matte finishing CF for my partner's F10 as well. So I should be getting that tomorrow or next week.

As of now, I've been testing it for fitment and everything seems ok. I'll see if I can get some feedback from other owners and see if anyone wanna gather up a group buy and maybe file for vendor.

So far this is the start as I 'm having him doing some other exterior parts in CF like the side mirrors, door handles and pillar.

Hope to get some good feedback. Thanks!

Looks good. Would have been nice if they included a spot for the M Badge.

Do you have a shot of your engine without the cover?

Easy to take out of the cover. So you like me to take a pic of just the CF cover by itself?

I will put in the M badge later on as the decal on the cover are easily taken off. Just got it in so too lazy to take out. Will do it tonight :P

I'll be getting a set of dry and matte carbon in a few week for my partner's M5 as well. Those will reduce much heat built up.

I'm using the stock cover because there are some air vents on it and holds up some of the heat.

I'm quite sure if the plastic composite cover can withstand the heat, CF will be able to.

I'm in the process of contacting the Mod here to see if I can be a vendor and do a group buy. I would start off with 5 buyers if they are fully obligated in this set up.

As it stands, I will be producing a 2 version: Dry Finished Carbon or Dry Carbon with Coating Finished. Both of these will withstand heat build up but of course you can put heat resistant insulation behind the cover.

We haven't work out the logistic on the price yet as it is a start of my project with my buddy oversea. I will get some info this weekend from him. Pricing will be around mid $600 or could be cheaper. It comes with 2 year limited warranty from defect of discoloring.

Oh yes.....we will make some changes as people wanted to put back the M Badge as well.
