I thought the GT-S was gonna start around 129k. I know nobody is going to buy a base version but you ll be able to get ones around the high 130s I belive.

One to the topic though if you want safe and usable speed like many have already said RS7 is the way to go but if you want driver connection I would go M5 all day and everyday. In terms of RS7 compared to a Camry sure it has a lot driver feel but compared to a M5 it feels soft and almost isolated. And another to touch in terms of quality like stealth said neither feel like 100k cars but neither does my LX. It just depends on who you are and what you want. But if it was my choice M5 is the way to go, it just looks damn gorgeous where as RS7 just looks good. Anyways I value driver engagement and feel when it comes to perfomance cars.

I'm skeptical of that car. I don't think it has enough power for the price.

In my world 500hp or less = under 100k.

It's prices against the 911 Turbo as is but it is heavier, not mid-engined.

Actually AMG GT-S is advertised 503HP/479 lb-ft/3600 lb, but since it's underrated (typical AMG) it must have close to 540-550 actual power and a good power/ratio...
I believe better than M5/M6/Jag F-type R and probably 991 turbo (not s).

911 isn't mid-engine either. It's a rear engine car.

Close enough. My point is just that the specs of that car don't look special enough for the price.

It's heavier than the 991Turbo has less power and the engine at the front.

Plus Jag is coming out with the SVR model of the F Type which may have close to 600hp and AWD.

Very interesting comparison... The RS6 is really the game changer but those of us in the US don't get to lay our greasy little mitts on that one...

RS7 is a fantastic car but the difference in performance is meaningless for somebody like me. I wish I could say I was some awesome driver and shredded track days all the time but the truth is that I use my car to commute in los angeles and never will scratch the surface of either of these two cars performance wise. I love the M5 interior, I love that the M5 hooked me as a kid and I've wanted one ever since, I love the seats and the options available, I love that the car isn't sooooo in your face like the RS7.
Basically it is everything subjective to me that has me in the market for an F10 right now. Objectively it may not be the right choice as the RS7 is incredible, but for some strange reason the M5 has its hooks in me much more than the RS7.

Having test driven the both RS6 and 7, and owned the LCI M5 and now the M6 GC CP, i agree with you.
The BMW's offer that bit more driver feel, I will like you never get near the performance limits of these cars but still find BMW the best car by a mile.

TBH the Bentley V8 GT Speed I had for a while is a mile better than the Audi's also.

Dude, since you've owned the LCI M5 and the M6 GC CP now, can you comment on which car makes a better street car? Especially in driving around city streets with bad potholes and large cracks? I have driven an M6 GC CP once and it did feel slightly softer than an M5.

I tried to like the RS7. It's hard. Great looking car and not as overly saturated as the panamera but my dealbreaker might be silly. It has to do with the leather options and the weird looking dash layout. that screen disgusts me.

Another car I really like but also same issue, the E63. I really like the E63 exterior. I really do, but the interior is a whole different story. le sigh. first world problems on what to get.

I couldn't justify the price tag without full leather option offered, other than that, it's a great car.

Hi All

Had a M5 beginning of last year, pre LCI, traded it in on a RS7. It is a quick car, but lacks the sole of the M cars. Got rid of it this year for a new M5. Got rid of my M3 last week for a X5 m50d. M5 and M50d are a great combo to have in ones garage.
