Nail on the head and I am for the first time excited about the sound on seeing this video. Can't wait to see/hear it in person. Whatever the ills are with that FIV8 sound, BMW appear determined to fix it with the M5. Epic.

For the first time I like the sound of it. Can't wait for M6 F13. Also, my faith is growing back for the next 3.3l V6 powered M3 F32.

Wow This car sounds quite epic although it is Turbo-ed!

And do you see how quickly it revs to the red line?!? That kinda quite shocked me.

A warranty? Also, some of those who buy these cars will always want the newest and highest HP. They also have the means to attain that with minimal to no effect on their bank accounts/lifestyle.

Maybe not the enthusiast type, but definitely a reality.

Maybe, because the F10 M5 drives circles around the E60 M5 at the track?
And maybe you didn't get that the F10 M5 makes much more sense and is much more composed than the E60 M5?
What was the E60 M5? A car that was too big and heavy to be a hardcore sportscar but it behaved like this because of its drivetrain concept and because of the fact that it needed high revs. True - there were fans for it but in the end the M5 also has to have good GT manners.
The good news for the F10 M5 is: Dual role ability: Much faster than E60 on track - much better GT on high speed Autobahn runs -> perfect!

funny. It looks like it's going to be just great, eh? I don't even like big cars as daily drivers and for me the E9Xs are big cars. I would certainly love one of these though. Can't find another word apart from epic to describe what this clearly is going to be.

I was at Miramas last year and got to see the M5. I was watching/ listening in awe as it peeled away. If you think the video sounds good...

From the looks of it, the videos were taken with the suspension in "comfort" mode. If BMW is using something like the Bosh struts with electronically controlled dampening valves...this would be expected. I'm sure sport/sport plus are much stiffer.

My predecessor Volvo S60 R had dynamic suspension...comfort was a joke for me, sport 90% of the time and "advanced" for top performance. Ya, ya, ya hate me because I owned a modified AWD Volvo w/mods giving 390-395 at the crank. I've moved on to my 335i xDrive N54 with mods. M3s look out! }:-)

Sorry, embed be dead.

Oh, ya, funny thing, the car backfires...Volvo said that was a "feature." lol
