ED transport/drop off

So before I get killed, my trip won't allow me to drive the M5 while abroad. We'll only be in Munich two days after Italy and for that short a trip I dont want the hassle with winter tires etc. And if its snowing Id be even less inclined to drive.

I was planning on having BMW take care of the shipment for me for the 60 euro fee. For those that did this, if any, who do I need to contact to arrange this?

They can arrange it for you when you check-in at the Welt. You do not need to make any arrangements in advance. But be warned - for 60 Euro the shipping company will send a driver to drive your car to the Munich airport location. For 75 euro they will transport it on a flatbed.

I had sent an email to the Welt info address and they responded that my dealer is supposed to handle this.

But thx for pointing out the flatbed option, that will be 15 euros well spent.

I forgot to mention this earlier. I was in the same situation as you, with very limited time in Munich. I was originally going to leave my car at The Welt but at the last minute decided to drive it to the drop-off location myself. The location closes at 2:00, so as long as your delivery is scheduled for noon or earlier you can always do that. It's only a half hour drive (barring any traffic) from The Welt to the Munich airport drop-off location.

Thing is my delivery is March 23rd, within the snow tire restriction.

Understood. but if the weather's nice the day you're there, you can probably drive to the airport without issue. Just drive slowly so you don't get pulled over and ticketed for lack of snow tires!

How were you able to schedule a March 23rd delivery this far out? I ask because we are planning on being there the exact same week and I was going to start speaking to my dealer in January about placing the order then. But, if I can do it now (and if I have to do it now), then I'll certainly jump on it right away.

Scott.

I was told u can put in 6 months out - I got my ED date verified 11/21 but I had put in for it right before Hurricane Sandy, so late October. I did it early because I wanted to start booking my flights using miles and wanted to make sure they had an allocation. If you know you want to be there then, i say book it.
