parking brake malfunction

Just had this tonight when pulling up at home, switched the car off and on again to see if it cleared but no, it won't engage.

Anyone else had this? I would have thought the system would have been pretty robust, good job my drive is reasonably flat.

Good thing you can leave it in D and turn off the engine until the parking brake gets fixed.

Indeed but not an ideal solution holding a 2 tonne car on a small pin lock, it will be a week and 700 miles of driving before I can get into the dealer.
