The exhaust is a custom made piece so each customer can choose what size and lenght the tail pipes should have!

Also the sound with downpipes will be really mean!

Sounds pretty good with the valves open. So you can't do any WOT runs because the car is new but you can rev the sh*t out of it?

Yes, the M5 plays an MP3 recording of a stock engine on a dyno through the speakers to transmit 'real engine sound' into the cabin. They say the problem is the 5 series chassis/soundproofing is too good.

The question is, what is this going to sound like inside the car??? Are you going to turn off the stock engine sound being piped in through the speakers? How about some recordings from inside the car?

The stock exhaust valves open/close at certain rpms or WOT so you can't control them the same way like the KKS exhaust.
That's the big difference between other bolt-on exhausts and this one.

The weight is same as stock as far as I can tell.
Love the video, like the sound. Can you show us a video of the use of the button to open/close valves inside the car. While several exhaust vendors offer this feature very few do it well, usually involving some ungainly flip switch, wanted to see your execution.

Thanks for posting, ignore the haters, can't please all the people all the time.

Z4mgermany: can you comment how the active sound feature in the m5 (http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=588968) interacts with the new exhaust? Do you notice that the sound in the car is somehow different than how the aftermarket exhaust really sounds?

Is there any hope in getting this for the F10 550i? Depending on the price, I'd be a willing Guinea pig!

I've got a button to control the valves autonomous.
Downpipes are the next thing to come these days :-)
We have not made WOT runs as the car is factory new and nit run-in.

The reving-noise was raised from 93db to 108db with open valves.
Closed valves mean stock noise levels.

Here's some more info:
it's a 3" axle-back, it doesn't make sense to change the piping from downpipes to rear axle as it is full 3" stock and has 2 very very small mufflers.
The biggest restriction are the downpipes with 4 (2 on each side) restrictive catalsysts.
I'm getting new SS downpipes with 2 (1 on each side) 200cpi metallic cats.
No engine light, a decent hp gain and more noise is promised :-)
