Absolutely... strong word.

Why wouldn’t they limit the car at a displayed 155?

The speedometers are very accurate these days. They have accelerometers, accurate tire rotational speed measurements, transmission speed measurements, engine speed measurements. They know exactly how fast the car is going. Also it would make much more sense to just limit the display speed of 155 and only allow the car to go 150 or so.

I’m pretty sure the fact is that the M5 can go close to 165 mph stock.

Because the display is not absolutely correct.

Yes, I used that strong word again.

I was still typing and Siri voice dictation wasn’t helping.

😉

I’ll bet that you don’t really know how accurate that display is or not, do you. You just like strong words .

I love strong words!

But, I also know that the displayed speed is ABSOLUTELY not accurate.

163 max here in both 6th and 7th gear. This was reflected on HUD and Spedo.

Well there is a written document by BMW service that clearly claims the speedo error as high as 10% of real speed + 2.4 extra mph is NORMAL

270km/h here in Germany....without fear or chicken head from looking for cops while doing it

Odd thing is....when you're aloud to do it, you rarely actually do it.
