Buying the car without dealership?

Is this possible?
I was told that one can order a car right off from BMW Canada, not buying through the dealerships. I would like to know if this type of purchase even exists. anyone?
Only concrete and 100% authentic answers please

If thats something you want to do, your best move is to call BMW Canada directly and ask.

I owned a dealership in years past (not BMW) but I would find it very hard to believe that it's possible as retail dealerships require different licensing vs a distribution center/corporate branch. Secondly the corporate office cannot contractually compete against its own dealers. This would cost franchisees money and lost sales. If you can pull this off, let me know. Good luck.

No, at this moment, you can't. At least in Canada you can't buy a car from a car manufacture as an individual. However, You don't need to buy a brand new car from their branded dealership though. For example, if your brother works for Nissan and you want to buy a brand new mercedes, his dealership can order one for you, but you won't be able to take advantages of any special finance/lease program from the manufacture. It would make sense if it's a cash purchase.

If that's the case, it's a bad business practice.
