Silverstone leather - replacing center console with black
I recently picked up a lightly used M5 with Silverstone leather interior (full leather). I am pretty impressed with it so far, but I am pretty OCD about keeping things clean, and the center console is bugging me a bit because it seems like it is a magnet for dirt, especially with a 6MT tranny where I rest my arm for shifting.
Has anyone done, or contemplated, switching out the Silverstone leather for black in this area? In doing some searching I see someone with an E60 M5 who did it: Looks like it would cost about $300 for the two doors of the console and the long piece beside the shifter. What are people's long-term experiences with keeping this piece clean? Do you think it will look odd or will it tie into the rest of the black on the center console, the black leather dash, and the black leather on the top part of the doors? Part of me thinks it is worth it so that I don't have to be so careful about resting my arm on the leather or leaning on it getting in/out of the car.

Black is great, but shows every speck of lint. Don't change it. In my M3 I kept a cloth and leather cleaner in the door compartment. Long traffic light, time to clean the center console.
