Can you reset the DCT like the SMG?

Can you? Like in the E60 M5. Hold both paddles over 40 mph? Just curious.

That's an interesting thought. I'm not familiar with the SMG, but I'll assume you mean that by pulling the two shift paddles toward the steering wheel it would be like pushing the clutch pedal to the floor and coasting? I hope someone knows the answer, but I'm not going to try it! Complete guess, but I think not.

Pulling both paddles with the SMG III transmission reset the parameters so that you 'could' enhance the smoothness of the transmission shifts; i.e. resetting everything back to spec. Since the DCT is a different type of automated manual, I don't think this works. Porsche just announced with the PDK in the upcoming 991 GT3 that both paddles could be pulled which would essentially disconnect the clutch(es). That is for handling issues though, not for resetting anything.

Are you serious? I paid service like $200 to reset the SMG in my 07 M5. Should have been on these forums then

True. I should always consult that World Wide Web thingy before accepting any service recommendations. For that matter, before making any decisions at all. I'm gonna go google BLT vs Club right now!
