So riddle me this Batman, could we theoretically put 275's and 305's on the Competition Pack 601M wheels?!?!?!

Nope. When the 335is came out the same style number was available in two different diameters, and then one of them got killed off because there were structural problems with it. 343M isn't a model number, just a style number, so I don't think it's odd that they might use the same style on different diameters and certainly different widths.

I am curious why the M6 gets wider wheels standard though.

Part of the $17,000 price difference you get with the M6.

why not put a CF roof along with Comp. package?!
Fitting a carbon fiber roof would require new crash testing as it would technically be a different body structure.

The thread with the M5 Nighthawk states it has the Competition Package, but without the Competiton Package wheels.

Yup, you were right. I assumed the lack of the Competition wheels meant that it was merely an aesthetic upgrade, but I was wrong.

Yeah, I see that now. Thanks for the correction.

I am excited by this package. I hope the steering feel is improved. Now if they can chop some extra weight via carbon fiber front/rear bumpers and Hood/trunk to make this a legit competition pkg.

Personally I think it is a complete waste unless you are tracking. Drive the new 2014 F13 M6. It has the new steering, which is awesome as-is. The new springs on the comp pkg STILL leave quite a gap. Yo can drop $400 on H&R, which I have on BOTH my M5 and M6 and they significantly enhance the ride with a much lower center of gravity (not to mention the look of the increased drop) and you can install downpipes for under $3K installed to more than increase the power through the ENTIRE RPM range. IMO the wheels are just not very aesthetically pleasing either. I would still end up getting a set of HREs or ADV1s. Just ordered a 2014 M6 coupe today and I passed on the comp package. Not enough value for what you get. The handling gets to a point where good enough is good enough. I could not have gotten the new F13 to handle turns and slides any better (until it is lowered).

Putting that $8K towards a Vorsteiner kit

How's the steering on the 2014 M6 compared to that on the 2013 M6?

MUCH better. Like I said, I drove the 2014 M6 first then got in the M5 and it felt very "heavy" and unconnected to the road (which I had NOT noticed whatsoever prior to driving the M6 and making a comparison. I also was not LOOKING for it. It actually was the first thing I "noticed" and I noticed it immediately. Almost like I thought I may have accidentally switched my steering into a stiffer mode). Then I drove the 2013 M6 and noticed the same thing but to a very slightly lesser degree. I think the M6 wheel feels much better than the M5 so that could have actually been the difference.

BTW...FORGET EVERY CRITICISM I made about the comp. pkg above.....Now, having slept on it I am adding it to my order..not because I think it is a value...because if I don't I will LOSE SLEEP EVERY NIGHT wondering "what if?"-lol! Dang BMW!!!!!!!!!! Still don't see the value but what the heck. I will remove those springs and install H&R the first day. Lowering 10mm is a joke. The H&R lowers a full inch (25 mm) and they look INSANE on the F12/F13 (see pic). They also give it a PERFECT center of gravity. Feels like you are driving a very much sportier car. Handles very well.

You can put 305's (rear) on either (343M F10 M5 or comp pkg) , however there's
no Michelin PSS for the NA market available in this size , so you'd have to pick
Pirelli Pzeros or Yokohamas etc . There is a Michelin PSS in 305/30/20 for sale
in Canada (getting a set shipped as we speak) .
275's in front might be a tight fit if you're running spacers as they likely will extend quite a bit and cause plenty of rock / stone damage to your rocker panels

Ill buy the springs off you! My H&R springs are too aggressive for me.
