Steering wheel

I have never really been that interested in the M6 style (M5 facelifted) steering wheel, but I have to say this version on the 3 series is lovely.

I would buy that if it was leather with the M color stiching, possibly a flat bottom too.

I would, too...IMHO a lot of the steering wheels we see are superior to the one that came standard. The fact that we have to pratically "beg" BMW to make a better wheel for our pre-LCI M5s is absurd. I love my car but don't make the "M" stand for "Meh"...

love the suede. would be nice with a flat bottom indeed. we'll just have to wait and see some performance wheels on the m3 and hopefully adopt them

Flat bottom and a little flat on top would make it nicer

What is the reason for desiring a flat bottom wheel? Purely aesthetics?

This is a nice wheel. BMW needs to step it up for the pre-lci guys. Back to reality......it won't happen.

The F10 ///M Performance steering wheel can be fit into the M5
It does have a flat bottom, just not a "flat" top and double spoke design

Cool. Do you know if it comes with the M1 and M2 buttons - surely it would need to be a special order ?

Nope. You simply move the buttons/wiring and other components (lane departure etc) from your "old" steering wheel to the new one

Below are pics from the ///M Performance steering wheel installed in my car

JMH, where did you order your steering wheel from? I've only found F10 Non-M options. Love the look of the flat bottom wheel.

You can buy the steering wheel at any BMW dealer
It is the ///M Performance Steering wheel for the F10 , it doesn't list the M5 but will fit
it just fine (you just have to move the wires/buttons/pedals)

Part # is 32302253648

I have one and love it. Eventually when the alcantara wears I'll have it wrapped in leather with the correct colored stitching. I really like the squared off bottom.

Is there a part number out for the 3 series / M6 steering wheel in alcantara with carbon fiber?

Yes, heating is gone. But vibration is still there.

Does that red (on the center) match the Sakhir Interior red?

It's a close but not exact match
