Vinyl-wrapped Door Handles?

How much do you pay to have the chrome on the door handles wrapped in vinyl?

I'm being quoted $150 for parts and labor.

Sounds correct for a quality job.
I am sure others have had cheaper jobs ...

What are you kidding me !! 150.00 !!!! you can go online and purchase the vinyl tape for under 10 dollars and the only equipment you need is a hair blower, an exacto knife, and a credit card. Yes, thats right a credit card to push in the tape into the cracks. Ive done all my cars with this method and most recently on my prior 535i with the chrome strip on the door handles....its about 10 minutes per door handle.....you can even go to youtube and see how its done... When your done it will look like it was done by the factory

I had my tint guy do it while he was tinting my windows. $60.

Well worth it to me. It would have taken me an hour to do it.

Don Nguyen (a vendor here) did mine for $40 for all 4... He did them literally in 10 minutes.

Kinda sucks that you're in the wrong coast though.

Yeah... The car scene on the east coast sucks on so many levels.

Oh well.

Do it your self

I bought carbon fiber vinyl and applied to my handles. Super easy, cost $15. Need razor blade and heat gun/ hair dryer. Super easy to do.

You should do a DIY thread for this if you have the time. Did you have to take the handles apart or apply it over the chrome as assembled?

You definitely do not have to take handles apart. Simply cut a piece of vinyl slightly larger than the area to be covered. Apply to chrome handle insert. Heat with heat gun or hair dryer. Use a plastic straight edge to smooth out and allow heat activated adhesive to work. Trim edge with razor blade leaving a couple mm border that you can tuck in to the gap around chrome for full coverage.

I had mine done in black by my local tint shop for $60. Looks like they were from the factory.
