It's whether or not it has the flat bottom. It's the design. There is that awkward looking irregular shaped airbag in the middle that's identical to the one in the Chevy Malibu. They should do an all new wheel and airbag for this car. Most of the design looks great, but the steering wheel is a very important interface - it is the interaction point between the driver and the car, and it deserves investment in quality.

I would take one in yellow. This would be the first American made car I would be proud to own and be seen in.

No doubt an awesome car. Problem is that my M5 is a daily driver for me so this car would have to be a "weekend, fun" car and I already have one of those - 1973 Corvette 454 Stingray and is yellow in color. I am definitely not getting rid of that car as it was my dads and one day will be my sons. So I would have to use it as my daily and I just don't see that car in that light. Just my opinion. Love the car though. In the grand scheme of things my "problem" is not really a problem.

Awesome car, saw one in Detroit last month - btw absolutely loved the spirit of the people of Detroit!
The good people at GM should be proud of themselves

Here is a good Z06 video.

The interior quality is better than any American car I have driven, still not BMW but closer to the euro manufactures. All 4 Exhaust outlets are functional. You can control 4 electronic baffles (2 after the headers & 2 in the muffler) from inside the car depending on the sound you want ( stealth, touring, loud, race). I have one on order sitting at 3000 status which means ready for production. GM is still testing the car I should have it in DEC/JAN/FEB. One negative side of owning a Z06 you don't get the same dealer service experience like you do with BMW. She should be fast waiting on magazines to come out with some reviews.

Speaking of dealer experiences, I would highly recommend installing a good and discrete dashcam on your new Z06 once you get it. I've heard too many stories of the technicians or little service valet boys at dealerships having a heavy foot and playing with your toy in ways they shouldn't be. I understand that Chevy already incorporated a dashcam into the C7 as standard for track recording footage, but I remember reading something about it saying that it wasn't technically legal for Chevy to do that or something. Either way, I am willing to bet that once the new Z06 comes out, there may be some incidents with dealerships and owners cars. It seems to happen every single time. I know it happen a few times when the M5 and M6 first came out. Hell even the dealer I take my M5 to, years later, the technicians still rev my engine and give it much more throttle than necessary when taking it for a test drive after the service and repair has been done, it may be because of my straightpipes and tune though. Anyways, I'd get a dashcam if I were you man, just too much performance to hand over to the dealership sometimes. It's not that I don't trust them, it's just that I don't trust anybody.

What's so silly about it? I've been told time and again that the M3/M4 can do the 1/4 mile in 11.66 seconds every single time, no matter the DA and track prep at the drag strip. All of the M4 owners have said that with a tune it can make about 580hp and with its super light weight of about 3,500lbs without the driver or gas, it'll simply out turn everything. The new Z06 is just too heavy to be a real performance car, which is about 3,500lbs, and it simply won't have enough horsepower (650hp) to pull away from the better looking Austin Yellow M4 and more daily driveable M3. With only 650tq on tap, the new Z06 won't stand a chance against the M4's 402lbs/ft of torque stock. There's already owners out there that have installed Brembo big brakes and Hoosier track tires and they will be able to run circles around any C7 Z06, which only has crappy Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The aero is joke on the Z06, even with its full adjust-ability compared to the ducktail carbon fiber design of the M4's trunk lid and the M3's massive lip spoiler. No, mark my words, next year we'll start seeing videos of Z06's get lapped by M4's on VIR and Laguna Seca . Well this is what I have been told. These aren't my words you know.

This is the the reason my vehicles don't ever see the dealer unless it is for a warranty issue-if I can help it. Even then, I find personnel who will let me break the rules in some way to allow my monitoring. I too trust nobody.

You are correct if you order NAV it comes with PDR a built in camera system so you can film all your driving, racing + a valet feature that tapes who is driving your car. The legal issue was taping voice, not concerned since I don't valet. The dealer valet pisses me off.. I remember an incident with my M5 when leaving with my loaner and some kid flying by me in my M5, I was like WTF..

Racing APP Very cool feature through Cosworth software.

Never never never never, one more time, never follow a truck on the highway, never. You are asking for a cracked winshield at best, or a totaled vehicle and banged up or dead driver at worst.

I kind of agree on the safety point.

However cracked windshield is much more likely from following a high performance car with Max performance tires. Our cars have wider and stickier tires that throw up more rocks than conventional tires do. Also why you don't want to run spacers on your front tires.

This will decimate all after the OP puts about 100 grand in my bank account or more. If we have to, overnight parts from Detroit.

Nope. Sold it after 4 months and 3500 miles. It was a nice fun car, very refined.

I've been looking for something more fun and raw. I think I have found what I've been searching for.

Oh and best paint job I've seen so far.
