4-6 years. I put a lot of miles on my cars due to wk. my 06 Yukon now has 163k and running strong. Won't never get rid of it. If I got rid if the m5 I'd prob go ahead and get the gt3 like I was before buying this one c

+1. we are suckers to this kind of game.

Just don't let the wife know of the $ lost. Otherwise, we will all end up in the dog house.

Bought my E92 M3 in May after owning a convertible E93 M3. Plan to keep this one for as long as I can.

M5 is my DD- 2-3 years max, really depends on the LCI M5 and the new M4

To the early flippers, what kind of trade in values are you guys seeing? Mid 70's low 80's?

The last car to last 3+ years was my E39 M5. Since then RS6 (1 yr), Jeep SRT8 ( 1.5 yrs), CL65 (2yrs), CTS-V (2 yrs), and GT-R (2+yrs). We will have to see how long the F10 M5 lasts.

I buy at ED Invoice and I sell privately at 80% of MSRP, and I pay no sales tax.

It doesn't work if you pay US MSRP, sales tax and then trade-in.

Given that the MSRP of the 2013 M5 ranges from $90k to $118k, it's hard to narrow the resale to a $5k band because you have the $28k band in MSRPs.

Trade-ins seem to start in low-80s for base spec cars. Moderately equipped cars are upper 80s, and the fully loaded can reach into low 90s.

Can't really consider what you are getting on trade based upon what you are buying. That is just jumbling numbers to arrive at net. Very simply, if you look at Mannheim (or whatever your local dealer network auction source is), that is what you get for your car ( give or take a very small amt). 2013 M5 is bringing high 80s.

ALWAYS negotiate your purchase price first, with the dealer being under assumption that you are either keeping your car or selling it independently, then ask for a true ACV ( Actual Cash Value) of your car.

2 years but the M5 seems like a keeper. I'm planning to hang on to it until the new body style M5 comes out.
