X5m f85 wastegate Problem After downpipe

I know that is the m5 Forum but i think the Problem is more known here.

I swapped my stock downpipe for a 400cell catted downpipe and am very please with the sound of the turbo, but there is a wastegate problem at 1500 rpm, which is often read Here in forum. A metal-like rattle.

If i use M Mode it is a little bit quieter.
Is there a solution? Possibly. Software coding? I read that the wastegate flaps work electrically on the S63 engine.

Would the sound change or go away during a chip tuning?

Or is it only possible to fix it by using the Stock Downpipe?
Or is the Downpipe the wrong selection an if i use cattless Pipes the sound will gone.
Any help idea and solution for me ?

What you are experiencing is a very common side-effect of aftermarket Downpipes. Unlike S55 that uses electronic wastegates, S63Tu use old school vacuum actuated wastegate control system that is just not calibrated well from factory to prevent rattling at extremely light loads.
Sadly, there is nothing you can do about it via coding, though we can in most cases fix it or at least quite it down substantially with a flash tune.

Thanx for your reply!
I have talked with the workshop who swap the DP and he told me that he has not changed the gaskets
Do you think, that could be quieter if i use new gaskets ?

Surprisingly, the gaskets do help, but not much.

Definitely suggest replacing them at the time of the DP install.

This likely won't rectify the issue completely but it can help.

If it quiets down in sport/sport+, the wastegate settings can be modified in the software and will likely help reduce it by quite a bit.
