in the UK, on 80 litres (apprx.17.5 UK gallons) I usually get about 300- 350 a tank. I drive mainly short distances, only 8 miles to work each way
on a long highway drive recently I got 500 to one tank! cruising at +90 most of the way including a few blasts too. however my ave. on the trip computer shows only 20.5 mpg in the 4200 miles i've covered. still better that the e92 M3 I had previously. if you drive erratically or spirited you'll be getting about 200 ish to a tank don't drive like a nanny or think about fuels consumption too much or you might as well have bought a 520D... Enjoy!!

When you purchase a M5, you also become best friends with the guys that work at the gas station. |

My commute is 15 miles each way, roughly 50/50 highway/backroads. My long term MPG is 16.0 and has been for the last year or so. For the highway portion of my commute I usually set the CC at 82 mph - this really helps my average by offsetting my "spirited driving" at other times! The estimated range when I fill up is generally between 370 - 415 miles depending on how aggressively I was driving just before the fill-up (it seems the range is calculated based on the most recent MPG history as opposed to the long term history).

I know when I asked the question, several posters told me to 'cancel my order'... 'If your concerned of MPG, look somewhere besides the M5'... Etc.. And no matter how many times I stated I wasn't 'concerned' with MPG...I UNDERSTAND that a 4400lb car with a TTV8 putting out 560hp is GOING to consume a greater amount of fuel per mile... And that I was simply inquiring to get a sense of the expected RANGE on one tank... I still got the same comments. I found it quite irritating. Though, I'm somewhat easily irritated by people who don't listen (read).

If you are asking about MPG's on a M5 then maybe you should look into something more economical. The thought of gas mileage should never cross ones mind when ordering that car.
