M5 M Performance side decals
I've got these on my order, but I've always been a little unsure as to whether they will work on a white M5.
Has anyone had these fitted? I have them on my white F31 touring, and they look awesome in my opinion, totally transform the car and look like paint. I am unsure how they would suit the M5. If anyone has any photos of these on a white, preferably showing the car side on I'd be grateful. Cheers Mat

Not sure they'll work on any paint color. The beauty of the M5 is it's understated nature.
I think if you wanna see what they look like on a white 5er, photoshop should do the trick though.

I've seen them on a white 535i here in town. I'm not a fan of them on any color car. I think they look boy racerish. Keep in mind that it is personal preference and coming from a guy who removed every exterior M5 badge on the car.

Sorry mate, not feeling that especially on a already good looking f10 m5
Think understated mods are the way to go

Even wheels and brakes? I don't mind the logos at all, I find them subtle and I surely paid enough for them! Besides that I enjoy looking at other cars' badging. In fact, I was behind a debadged 911 Turbo the other day and I was denied the pleasure of knowing if it was a Turbo S! But, more power to you. Certainly something to be said about not needing to shout out what kind of car you drive.

Thanks all, mixed responses. Out of interest to those who don't like them, what are your thoughts on the black wheel option?
Looks wise here is a mock up I've just done: And on my touring... Pondering... Mat

I dont like the side skirts on white - have never been a big fan ever since I saw the original pic on frozen silver two years ago. If you were to mark it, I think Id prefer just the M tri color decal on the back portion of the OEM side skirt.

The ones on the wheels are pretty small, so I left them on. The ones on the calipers would just be too difficult to remove, so those are still on as well.

I wouldn't affix the rocker panel stickers. General public opinion here would be the same, regardless of paint color.
However, if you like it then that's all that matters.

Mat, one of our main complaints about the M5 is that it looks too tame and 530d m-sport like... so you have got the black grills, side vents, m-perf exhaust and other great mods. id get them fitted first and see what you feel afterwards. I love the side decals on your touring and to be honest I quite like them on your photo-shopped pic of the new beast too... it will certainly stand out and look sportier, like you want it to. or perhaps some 3d design side skirts...?!

I love those pics of the M5 in the womb being fed by the umbilical cord, breathing life into her before being set free on the roads under the care of it's new mother, mlepyro...

Personally, I wouldn't do this on a genuine M car. The decals look OK on a (non-M) 3er where having M Performance add-ons sort of makes sense as an upgrade. But a real M car simply doesn't need such an upgrade....it's the real thing so would appear like its trying too hard.

Thanks for the feedback. At the mo I am inclined to have them applied as I think it will break up the white and continue the black theme front lip grilles side vent rear diffusor and exhaust. Have them and can always remove.
It is interesting to hear peoples comments about keeping the car subtle. That's not what I am trying to do though... I liken the decals to black alloys or matt paint on that front. cheers Mat |
