Spoifty Album Artwork Through Bluetooth?

I've noticed on my 2013 when I play Spotify through Bluetooth I don't get album artwork or anything just the song title. But everybody else gets the artwork along with the title. Why is that?

Everybody else with an M5 doesn't get this. Only when connected via USB.

Pretty easy for me because I have all the tools and knowledge required to clear a used NBT unit (making it like new) and getting everything setup.

I usually use Spotify now, but still have Sirius for a couple channels.

I liked the comedy channels on long drives, but the sound quality on the music channels is so compressed it makes FM sound better.

I have a 2013 with a NBT head unit but I don't get Sirius album art and only get art from audio when hard wired in via USB. Can I code functionality to get the Sirius art?

Not an a 2013 model M5. You need a NBT with a build date of 07/13 or higher for Sirius station art.

The original NBT units (07/12-07/13) have a different Sirius tuner which doesn't support the data channel for station artwork.

Even then, it's only the station art, not the art of the music currently playing. NBT Evos can display the album art of the currently playing song over Sirius.

Are you getting it over BT or USB? Neither my '15 M3 nor my '14 M5, both with NBT, get the album art over BT from spotify.

Apple iPhone 8.

The whole car was reflashed with the then current software last summer, which might also be a factor to consider. Nav->options->navigation system version shows me NBT_O16255A.
