Saying goodbye...for now.

Just wanted to thank the M5 community here on bimmerpost for all your support, laughter, and informative content. Last month I sold my 2014 M5 Comp Pack.

Here is my favorite photo of my M5 taken during sunset.

The 4 month wait finally came to an end this past Friday where I took delivery of MY18 991.2 Carrera 2S. I love the M5 dearly, but I never needed its size. I only drive my car on the weekends and rarely cary people. Until I settle down and have children, I'm going to downsize until the day that I need the practicality and space.

Here's a quick iPhone pic from this past weekend's run to the golf course.

Thanks!

Very nice! Enjoy it that's a nice car. I'm just the opposite, I needed the size of the m5 w the kids and all. Once they grow up a little and done w car seats it's back to a two door. Probably pick up a new GTR then. Make sure you stick around and post from time to time. We are all car enthusiasts and would love to see / hear how the new car is doing!

Good luck and enjoy it.

Great choice of car! Im on the fence as well but i do need the back seat from time to time as I have two kids. Have you test drove a turbo version? Can you tell me why you chose the C2S over a turbo version? In my mind, i feel that turbo 4 will be a comparable trade to the M5. does this feel just as fast?

Would love to see a pic of your clubs in the back seat! Is there enough room back there for 2 bags you think (woods out of bag of course)

What do you mean turbo version. All 991.2 are now turbos. The turbo and turbo S version is a super car giving you 0-60 in 2.4s and north of $200k after options. The carrera S has 420hp turbo 3.0L. MotorTrend tested it to 60 in 3.1s with launch control. This car is over 1200lb lighter than an M5 with lower center of gravity. It is louder, faster, and very nimble. The carrera 4s is AWD, gives you a little more traction and 1/10th faster to 60, but I'm in California and don't need awd. Being on the east coast you may want the 4S but it adds an extra 100lb for the extra width and awd system. The car is plenty fast as this is a true sports car. Plenty of road and engine noise behind you. It's not an M5 where it's a fast and sporty luxury car. If you don't like tire noise or mechanical noises as you drive and prefer comfort and luxury, stick with a BMW where it has a good balance of both. I can barely hear my stereo playing at wot or rough roads.

Will do. Woods out and the bag fits perfectly across on the shelf with seats folded. You can place a second bag on top but will probably roll forward against the front seats when braking. I'm ordering deck mats to protect some of the exposed leather as the bag will scuff it up if used frequently. You'll need a yoga mat or some cover to protect the sides to be extra safe.

The tuning scene for 991.2 (turbo) carrera is going to explode once the ecu tunes start hitting the market....

Ecu tune
Intercooler
Downpipes
Exhaust
Bigger turbos (gts swap)

Will become an amazing platform to tune for it being lightweight and having great rwd traction

Oh crap, youre right! I forgot Porsche changed all their engines to turbo. Prior to the 997, they still had the NA engines : )

I drove plenty of jap cars that are noisy (ie: celica/civic/evo) so the road noise dont bother me if its not my daily.

Dang, i might have to start looking into this cuz i was too focus on looking at MY08-MY11 Porsche turbo model that i forgot the news ones are all turbo. LOL

thanks for the input.

Here you go. A cart bag perfectly fits and you can place your push cart in the frunk.
