If the E60 M5 was the new model, I would still be happy. I can't get over the noise it makes. It will be missed, but the F10 sure is looking pretty

lol if you actually think that tq wins races, then you are just dumb. If that was the case then you're telling me that the 335d is faster than my car? The 335d has 425lbft of tq

Umm what?? You are comparing a car that is down on you by 250 Hp, yet up on you by 50 ft-lbs of tq? A little bit nonsensical, in that case the new m5 is a little up on HP but way up on TQ, trust me that will win a race against you.

Sure the F10 looks nicer but its too long every inch they add is one too many. I'll take the E60 that car sounds ridiculous. The size is a little too much but it doesnt look like a car that needs you to be driven around by a chauffeur. F/I doesnt do it for me. The new V8 ///M engine sounds like vaccum cleaners the X5M/X6M are terrible. I'd rather drive an X5 4.8 (e70) over the M version. A lot of people will see in 4-5 years that F/I are not a good idea too many leaks/hoses tubing.

I have driven for extended periods of time; the M5, the M6 and the M3. Both the M5 and M6 were far to heavy for me to like, tq-less down low and felt like a tank to drive. The M3 was far more impressive, yet for my liking a little bit slow, still TQ-less down low and never gave the punch in the face feeling that a tuned 335i could. The only thing that stood about any of the M cars in their NA form was the glorious sound, argument ends there.

If you know your NA engine, you won't keep complaining about the low end TQ! Keep the RPM of your S65 or S85 above 4000 RPM and you will love every seconds of driving it!

On looks alone, both are great. I'm excited to see the new M5s on the road, I wonder if I will end up in an F10M5 in 4 years...

That fuel consumption is crazy for the E60. Was that measured in P400 or P500 mode?

Ok be a bit more realistic here. 335D is wayy down on power compared to the S85. I'd say torque becomes and advantage when hp numbers are close. Because this new motor has around 550hp and much more torque, I will gamble that the new car will be faster. That's also why lightly modded C63's and GTR's are both able to pull on the M5 on highway pulls

Would anyone like to know the volume of these cars? Because i would. I feel that although the f10 is only 2 or 3 inches larger, the volume of the F10 is insanely larger than that of the e60. I am just looking at the hoods and it appears to be that way.

If were from 50 years in the past or the future I wouldn't be able to tell you by looking at these pictures and looking under the hood which is the more advanced car from a design or performance perspective.
