Akrapovic Issues

I recently purchased an Akrapovic exhaust from my dealer. After they installed it, I realized that when the car is cold there is some sort of steel rattling coming from under the driver seat and once the car is warmed up it goes away. However when driving at low RPM on a high gear you hear some metal rattling again once you try to accelerate on the same gear between 1500 - 2000 RPM. The dealer took down the exhaust and installed it again but the sound is still there. I am going tomorrow again to demonstrate the sound but has anyone experienced this before?

Could be one of the rubber mounts is worn and it just needs replaced, would have thought the tech would have noticed that though

It's the crush metal gaskets between the dowpipes and exhaust. They should be replaced when replacing the exhaust or downpipes. GL

thanks, I will check with them tomorrow. Would that also effect the power of the car? I have realized a loss in power recently

It shouldnt. Throw it on a dyno. You have to order new gaskets first. They are tricky to install.

Give your ecu time to get used to the new exhaust. If you feel you lost power, it will come back. Also, the pipe will sound better once it is broken in.

I had the exhaust on for almost 3 months, it has settled in. The gasket is what the dealer said they will try however the loss of power is something I have experienced for a week now

OP, please let us know what they find out as I am going to install my Akra exhaust next week. Need to ask them to replace the gasket between down and link pipe.

Maybe the vacuum lines for the exhaust valves have either loosen up / started leaking (due to incorrect installation) ?
