The only disappointment i sense with this car will be the sound. The 4.4 TT in the X5/X6M didn't sound mean at all. Sounded like a VW GTI to be honest. Hope Akra and eisenmann can coax the V8 rumble out of that motor.

I like it. Awesome. Especially after loosing those chrome parts from the concept model.

Knowing the weight of this thing would be interesting. Below two tons?

A tad late. I'd change the wheels, but the total image is just excellent. Wow.

Magazines have an extremely poor track record on specs before official announcements. Remember when MotorTrend claimed a few months back that the M5 would only have an automatic because the DCT could not handle the torque? Totally wrong of course - DCT is clearly seen in the concept and prototype cars.

The F10 550xi does 0 - 100 kph in 4.8 seconds so having the F10 M5 do it in 4.4 is not that impressive. I realize traction becomes the limiting factor but this seems too slow.

And 552 HP really seems wrong. The X5M and X6m already make 555 SAE horsepower (yes that's 3 hp more than the claimed power in the new M5) while the photos of the engine in the F10 M5 shows much larger turbos and inter-coolers. So, I call B.S. on the HP figure claimed by Autozeitung.

However, I'm glad to see that the black wheels are gone (or at least an option).
so the hp isn't officiall yet there's still hope thank god! E39 m5 400 hp..e60 m5 507 hp..and please bmw f10 m5 600 hp at least that will keep off eyes staring at you for putting the same engine from a huge SUV!!! Which isn't m division tradition AT ALL!

The new body styling looks very '3 series' esq, dropped nose etc. It does have smatterings of the M3 too. I like it, but it needs a bonnet hump otherwise it just doesnt look 'M'ean enough

Me likey!

Two observations:

1. Its the first time with BMW I feel the predecessor doesn't look dated at all.
2. Am I the only one to notice this car shows more body roll than a 2CV when cornering hard?

This aside, I think the M division did a great job and it will kick a$$, performance wise.

That front bumper looks so much like the current e9x m3. The m5 actually looks a lot better than I was expecting though. I really like it. As everyone else has said, that color looks great as well. Looks like Monte Carlo blue, which is one of my favorites from BMW.

From Insideline's X6M test

As tested Curb Weight (lb): 5,256

Test Results:
0 - 30 (sec): 1.7
0 - 45 (sec): 2.9
0 - 60 (sec): 4.3
0 - 75 (sec): 6.4
1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 12.6
0-60 with 1 foot of rollout (sec): 4.1

From the 0-60 time I can't see how the lighter ///M5 won't beat this by some margin.

It looks beautiful and I love the M6-like wheels with a modern touch. Like what they've done with the engine aesthetics. Not overdone, just evil looking

Thanx for the info.
But TRACTION can be an issue when accellerating from zero to whatever speed. The X6M has X drive...
