BMW Teleservices/Connected Drive expiration - CarPlay expires in 20 years

BMW Assist is telling me that these services were only provisioned on my car for 4 years, not 10 years the way it used to be. She claimed that was a dealer choice, but who knows. Should I call my dealership and ask?

For those of you who actually purchased and have encountered this, did you renew the services? She told me it's $50/year for each service, separately, which quickly adds up. So it's $50 for live traffic, $50 for internet search (what you use for finding addresses and presumably what you use for voice control, because that's also sent out over the car's internet connection), $50 for the SOS button, $50 for remote services (remote unlock/lock and things that make the App work), etc. Seems nuts to me.

Also, the rep told me that Apple CarPlay expires in 20 years, which is interesting to say the least.
