What's the biggest size TV that can fit into the M5's trunk?

Happy thanksgiving to our American neighbors. As I can comfortably take a 50" Sony led tv back to the store for exchanging with something bigger, I wonder about what would the biggest size tv that can fit into our trunk, of course, with backseats fold down.

Anybody ever done some experiment?

55" without any issue at all

bought a Sony LED last yr. The entire box will fit with the seats down and laying down totally flat. Any larger than 55" will probably need to have the box removed

I would not view this as a constraint. Just get the tv delivered and get a bigger one. I have a 60 in my flat and 70 in my house.

Stupid question. How do I fold down the rear seats so I have more trunk space ? Never knew you could do this.

Thanks! For big items I just take the truck so I never thought of hauling cargo in the DD. Lol

Damn I wish I have a truck or mini van now so I don't have to wait another week for the new tv to arrive. Our trunk can't handle 55"+. Bobblehead is right about that.

If box is removed, I think 60" would be about the max the trunk will fit. Otherwise, like all others said. Buy the biggest size you want and have it delivered

Actually I did some measurement and a 58" without the box can still fit in and lay flat. 60" won't work if wants it to sit flat, so I ordered mine to be delivered.

This is why I love car forums such as this one! It's not just about how fast an M5 can go 0-60 or weather the E60 sounds better than some Ferrari.

It can also be "what size TV can I fit in the trunk"! Hehe, love it!!

How big the box is for that 100" tv? I am guessing that no elevator can hold that size? Lol.

Gigantic! Box + wooden supports + pallet. I had several installed at an old work space in our largest conference rooms. They required special electrical considerations and significant reinforcement of the walls they were attached to.

They were never intended for consumers. They also run incredibly hot. And picture quality wasn't nearly as good I was expecting. Fortunately in a conference room setting it wasn't a big deal.

But what's surprising to me is that the 90" Sharp LCD I recently bought arrived in a significantly smaller box (dimension and volume). The weight difference (90 = 141 vs 103 = 443) is probably why. The 90" had no problem fitting in my condo elevators. The 103" displays had to be moved into position during construction and moved with forklifts.

The 70" 4K Sharp I just bought also weighs almost as much as my 90". It's funny to me. As technology progresses things like iPhones and iPads get smaller. Not so much for good TVs, I guess. Though you could argue BMW's are the same way.
