side view mirror cameras

Does anyone know how durable the cameras mounted on the side view mirrors are? When making a turn, the tires kick up rocks/debris and hits the underside of the mirrors. Anyone else concerned about this? I've been driving around with the windows down thanks to the weather warming up (finally) and I noticed this could potentially become an issue down the road.

I haven't noticed this, but then again, don't drive anywhere where potholes or rocks might be...

I believe it's the sand from DOT during the winter storms. They have been out lately with their street sweepers, but clearly it's not good enough.
