I first did exhaustmeister then downpipes on my comp pkg M5
The exhuastmeister is cheap an IMO well worth it. I then went with Noelle DPs not cheap but as you mentioned neither is an after-market exhaust especially on a comp pkg car that already has a slightly improved exhaust note by eliminating resonators and baffles. The DPs added more sound but also more importantly extra HP. http://www.exhaustmeister.com |

I kept clear of DPs to avoid the dreaded CEL. Rear section Eisenmann Sport improved sound significantly while keeping the 2k rpm drone away.
