BBS FI-R VS BBS FI help?

So iv'e been contemplating selling both my sets of HRE P40S and ADV.1 7.1 early next year and going for the BBS, question I am curious about is what is the difference between the two? From what I read on there specs seems to be more of a offset change, my buddy owns a e60 M5 and he just got the BBS FI-R but he had to run spacers in both back and front to give it a flush look. If I go with the FI-R will I have to run spacers as well because of the high offsets vs the FI which run a lower offset which are similar to my current rims, will I not need spacers? Correct me if I am wrong but I believe BBS does not make custom offsets correct? Please advise me if you guys have any info.

I think your right, I looked at these as well. I think the R are slightly lighter, a similar but slightly different design with some hollowing out of spokes if I recall

I gave up on the idea due to cost and inflebility

I have the BBS FI's and love them. My two cents is that the FI's were designed for the F10 M5 regarding fit. Im pretty sure the FI-r require spacers. Depends if you want the look of the FIs or FIR.

Spending money for a lightweight wheel and adding spacers is inane. Go with HRE custom!

No spacers neeeed on BBS FI's. The offsets were made for the F10 M5. Perfect look with 275 front & 305 rear.

Ditto. The FIs mount 275/35 and 305/30 tires and sit nicely in the wheel well. The 9.5" fronts would probably take a 285/30 and fit, but I'm nervous over the diameter difference and the problem that might cause. I'm waiting for Michelin to make the 275/35 in the Sport Cup 2, and that will be my pairing. A shame BMW chose to change the bolt pattern for the 2018 model and the F10 wheels won't fit.

That's the main thing keeping me from the FI-Rs as well. I really do not like spacers at all and it sucks to run them on such a performance based light weight wheel. Though it does seem like you would really only need a spacer in the rear if you went with a 275/305 combo so not too bad I guess.

Yeah I really want the BBS FI-R's but the need of spacers tells me nooooo, another option I would consider would be the BC Forged rz05

I think Signature SV104's are pretty similar and cool as well, any size any offset numerous finishes nearly as light, fully forged.
