Any recommendations for installers in DFW? I've received some obscene quotes also and am relatively new to the area.

I did them myself, not bad at all if fitment is good. If fitment of downpipes is bad then it's a nightmare.

Yeah, I had a fair deal on some catted DP's, talked to my SA and he said he was ok with it because he knows I drive like a grandma and wouldn't void my warranty. Then I call my BMW mechanic and it is essentially $1000 to install. I just sell my Eisenmann Sport and get Turner deletes and call it a day.

Don't do this. I had Turner with stock cats and the drone got the best of me. Now I have E-Sport and dp's and LOVE the sound. And LESS drone (little to none, actually).

I would say buy used OEM dp's, gut them, install yourself, and save 100's.

your mechanic wants 950 because either

A: he thinks he can rip you off
B: has no idea what the job entails and is giving himself buffer room
C: has done downpipes on something else before and thinks it'll be just as hard
D: doesn't want the job and figures if you pay that much it'll be worth it

all of these are reasons to go somewhere else

Exhaust shops run competitive pricing on jobs like this, PLUS they have a lot of experience with downpipes/exhaust/etc..

ITs crazy the number dudes throw at you after you roll up in a 100k+ car. lol

SOOOOOO call and get a quote on a header/downpipe install.
They should have some regular number for those jobs.

I think anything over 400 is ridiculous. Anything higher than 400 and you're paying the inflated I drive a 100k car price.

I paid $350 last week in Atlanta. I had quotes from 350-800..

Same shop did my x5 downpipes for 400.
