The 7 Series has them, so you could try them at a dealer to get an idea; should be similar. Apparently it's pretty subtle but some have said it makes them feel like they're being molested/violated....
Just to make sure you're aware, "Active" here refers to a massage function, NOT the active bolsters that were called "Active Seats" on the E60. That's not currently available on the F10.

The active seat function is rubbish in my opinion. It isn't really a massage function. Its more like a lump moving around the seat bottom in an uncomfortable way.
However the ventilated seat function it is bundled with is pretty good.
