The car ended up being featured in Hot Rod magazine. I wish I remembered what issue. The year had to be 64-65.

What is the world coming to? I pray to God my daughter never says that to me. She's only 2, but I can see she already has a interest in cars. Good luck with that man. If she steps out of line, instead of grounding her, go to the school and do a brake stand right in front.

Personally I think it's easy to get use to the sound, and think it's not loud. My other half can here me two blocks aways, and when I walk in the door she says you were speeding. I live in a very quiet area with open back roads, and you can haul. Honestly I don't want the darn thing any louder. Remember with the sound proofing it kills the interior noise. Now when I start up my 991S with sport exhaust it has not aggressive Porsche rattle noise, and that sounds wicked when cold.

He asked me how I liked the M5 (which I told him that I loved it so far) and I mentioned that I had an aftermarket exhaust on order and should be in next week. He was like..."wait....that is the stock exhaust on there?... Your car is already loud... wow!". I was kind of surprised as I always thought the exhaust sounded a little "quiet".
Did he then give you a special M5 tax on that bill?

No, actually the PE company I work for acquired his company recently and I got a special "friends and family" pricing.

Yeah, doesn't make sense but people said the same thing to me. Especially when in an indoor parking lot where it's amplified. Like why does your car sound like that?? Guys love it but women hate it. Mostly because it doesn't look like a car that would sound the way it does so they think it's silly. That's why people hated modded civics. It's not suppose to sound like that lol. If it's a viper they expect it. Out of what they perceive to be a nice 5 series. No.
