I took my e39 m5 to a local exhaust shop beginning of this year, picked the tips and had them do a muffler delete. They charged me $250 bux for everything and it was the greatest mod ever.

There was really no hp gains as e39 is naturally aspirated. Sound wise it was night and day. I will post a vid tonight. Lookswise it looks the same as the turner kit.

Just a little innocent fun.
Miss that car like crazy. It was not as fast as the e60 or the f10, but it felt so much better and the sound......

sorry to wake this one up from the dead..
does anyone feel that tips are sitting too low from the edge of the bumper? Looks like they could go up at least 1/2" to close the gap and fill in the bumper nicely.. |

I have not touched it yet, if I end up keeping it I want to find someone who can tig it nicely when adjusting "change angle" as I don't think bending hangers alone would do.

So in order to do this you have to cut the stock pipes? I am interested, but just leasing my car, so I can't do anything that I will get dinged for when I turn the car back in.
