Bump for a great thread too !!

But i must admit, after googling around a bit to no avial, I am in search of a DCT guru like this guy SSPKris or the like. I have a couple of questions about my M5 DCT.

I feel like my DCT is acting funny. My trans isnt slipping (that im aware of), and is up-shifting fine under load...but upon downshifts, it seems to be a delay between the "rev matching" and actual trans engagement ...like .5 of a second...its rather annoying. Does that make sense? Like a delay in engine braking with actual downshifts....It almost feels like there is some sort of gear backlash or slop somewhere. The driveshaft U-joints seem fine, and same with the axles. Not 100% about the diff. Maybe a TCU software update?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thx.
Mike

When was the last time you changed out the spark plugs and coils? I was having similar issues and thought it was the clutch or DCT. Car ran smooth as butter after putting new plugs and coils.

Mostly noticiable in manual mode. You can notice it in D3 (auto mode) as it has more agressive shifting.

Just changed them about 5k miles ago. I thought the same thing, so I changed them out prematurely. Still the same annoying delay.

Depending on mileage it may benefit from a DCT fluid and filters change, that is my first thought.

Did that as well about 10k ago. Car has 60k total. I've gone through all the motions....Diff service every 20k, DCT service, plugs/coils, all the regular maintenance is done. That's why this is baffling.

Bought an old thread up for you, it's on the main M5 Forum which may help you.
