Anyone shipped a car cross country?
I need to ship a car to a buddy from Manhattan to LA.
Called a dozen trucking companies today and I am getting quotes between $1,200 and $2,000. Would shipping by train be safer instead... is that even possible? |

Hello. I just found myself in the same boat. Who are the reputable carriers? I shipped a car from Michigan to LA a few years ago and recall that there were two reputable carriers for high end autos, but do not recall who they were. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Yep pricing is about right between 1500 and 2000. I shipped a car from LA to ATL, and recent ATL to Manhattan. Get a closed carrier if possible protects the car.

Reliable Carriers is the Best ! They do tons of cars for Pebble Beach & Barrett Jackson. They also do test cars for manufacturers.

I would recommend JP Logistics. They've shipped my car several times and also deal with high end exotics.
I believe it was 1500 from Dallas, TX to LAX enclosed trailer.

Use intercity. I just used them to ship my 2014 911 turbo and they did a fantastic job.
I did a lot of research and only one with consistent ratings. Jeff |

Would definitely recommend them as they use enclosed carriers and are very particular about taking care of the cars - my car was in a trailer with a new GT3, rx350, Bentley flying spur and a vintage show quality Jaguar. I paid about 1,200.00, and was quoted anywhere from 650 to 1,600 by other's. |

Exotic transport is 1,100-1,200 NY-FL.
There is also plycar and horseless carriage, but haven't used those two.

+1 for Intercity. Used them to ship my new M3 from the performance center to LA back in 2011. Excellent service and attention to detail. They offer "discounts" for bimmerforums and 6speedonline members, I'm sure they're sponsors of other forums as well.

I just shipped a 2012 BMW M6 Convertible from CT to Miami Beach. Horseless Carriage out of NJ did a great job and was very accommodating. Covered transport, nice guys. A+++
Jerry was the gentleman who helped me. http://www.horselesscarriage.com/ |

I've used several and no one is close to as good as Intercity Lines. The driver was fantastic, polite, provided his personal cell and constant updates and arrived early. They are a sponsor over on 6speedonline and have a thread where they provide quotes and answer questions.
