BBS Fi vs HRE P101
I am running my winter rubber on the 601s that came with the car and am looking to buy wheels for my summer tires. I absolutely love the design of the Fi and 101. The BBS are about 10-15% more expensive than the HREs. From a style perspective, they appear to be basically the same wheel to my eye. I know that the Fi is the BBS flagship wheel (I think the sameis true of the 101 for HRE). My question is whether the BBS is a better wheel, why and whether it justifies the extra grand or two. I don't track my car and, while I certainly push it hard, I never take it to 9/10s or 10/10s on the street.

Both are good wheels, a solid choice. I went with BBS FIs as they are lighter that the 101s. I was not interested in a 21" wheel, so if that is where you are going, then it is 101 only.
Is it a better wheel? That is tough to say. What you can say is that the FI is made in the same factory as the BBS motorsport wheels. They are truly a work of art.

As mentioned both are great and the FI is slightly lighter. The P101 is the latest in forgings from HRE and their cuts are even better so the wheels are lighter than their P40SC's. I like HRE because you can get the perfect custom offset for your car vs the BBS wheels which are pre set. I like the wheels as aggressively set against the fender as much as possible.

Off topic - but are these BBS Fi's on the F10 Test Mule?

Both are extremely popular choices here but we seem to get more inquiries over the P101. I love the FIs personally though. PM me if I can help you with a set.

My understanding is yes, this was one of the main reasons I chose the FI's and not the HRE's!

It's a popular design. Just pre production wheels I would think made by BMW.
Same thing with HRE P40.. many other manufacturers make same style wheel.

BBS motorsport works directly with BMW. The wheels on the test car were provided by BBS for testing on the ring. The BBS motorsport division already has the new M4 wheel specs
