Lowering Spring compromise comfort?
Afternoon all,
I am considering fitting the H&R lowering spring kit to my M5 but wanted to first tap in to people who have actually done it and what their opinion is. I am a big fan of a comfortable ride and the stock M5 in comfort suspension mode is great. How much difference am I going to notice after fitting the springs? Is there an alternative kit that I should consider or is the H&S one, the one to go for? Finally, should I also consider the H&S wheel spacers to get the wheels to fill the arches a bit better once it has been dropped? Any advice or experience is much appreciated. |

Y not get the Competition springs and keep it OEM and retain the comfort settings? (unless it isnt a big enough of a drop)

Eibachs are known to be a little less harsh; I had them on my E60 M5 -- but I haven't seen a review of the new F10 M5 application yet.

How much do the CP springs drop the car? Is it even noticeable?

Yep, I was going to order a set of Eibach's and post a little review last Fall, but then got too busy and then Winter came. Maybe in the Spring I'll get them. Can't wait for Spring!

I rode stock for about 500 miles and then installed H&R Springs with 21" wheels with about 8,000 miles on the vehicle currently. IMHO the ride with the H&R springs set to comort is comparable to stock springs set to sport plus. You sacrifice some comfort to get the aggressive looking stance!

Get the Eibachs!! We need a review of them.
The upcoming M3/M4 uses Eibach as OEM springs!

I have the AC Schnitzer springs. I would go with these over H&R. Much more comfortable and gives a nice 1" drop all around.
