How so? I hate on my C63 that the car doesn't differentiate between my wife and I by key for the seating.

How does it work for CA? Does the car remember by key and by which side the key is approaching on? Or is it driver side only?

Whichever key is closest to the door handle opening the car is used for the setting. CA will sense a key approaching by about 15 meters.
The person who wants to have their settings applied should open the car , the other wait until the car has been opened .

Sweet - my dealer just called me to say since I added executive package he'd take another $500 off. I was planning on asking for it when we finalized the paperwork but it was nice not to have to ask.

Thanks again to everyone in this thread who helped convince me to get the executive package - during my ED I was so glad I listened while going over the comfort access features and the powered trunk. Heated steering wheel? I tried convincing myself I didnt need it, but its going to be a nice perk when its freezing here.

If I ever drive anyone in the backseats I guess theyll be happy too with the heated seats, sunshades and climate control.

OK need some help - Im still going through the manual and getting used to comfort access. The manual states that when you grasp the handle, its like hitting the unlock button on the remote once, but what if I want to open the doors for the other people? Is there a comfort access feature for the driver to mimic pushing the button twice? Does each individual passenger need to unlock it themselves?

Or is it a safety feature so that other people can't get in your car and only I can open the doors?

That was easy enough - I wonder why it doesnt explain this in the manual. Or maybe I missed it.

It probably does, somewhere. I picked this up from my E60 with CA. I noticed that if I grabbed the back door handle first, it unlocked all four doors. If I opened my door first, the passenger had to wait until I got in before they could touch the door. It was confusing as hell so I just started grabbing the back door handle first whenever someone was with me. Now I just have to touch the ridges on the back door and it unlocks them all.

I am still having trouble with the X5 recognizing both keys. So far it only resets the settings with my key. My wife cant get her key to work right. On the M5, no problem, it works perfectly with each different key.

Seat memory with ca.

Will it automatically move the seat to whichever key opened it up? My wife sits much closer than me so its a pain pushing the mem button every time in our current vehicle. My 2000 Acura had this feature but no car since has and it was very convenient since we are a foot different in height.

Yes, it does that flawlessly. It remembers the last setting of the seats for each key and whichever the first key is that opens the car, it adjusts to those settings. Unfortunately, it's not working right on the 2013 X5 and I haven't been able to figure that out. I don't even need to use the memory buttons on the seats because the M5 remembers them for me.

The M5 has profiles that you can set for each key. The profiles are all of the possible settings that can be had on the car. The trick to getting the seat to change to the previous position in the X5 was simple. I just missed it. You have to go to locks in the settings menu and enable automatic last seat position memory in the lock section. That causes the last seat position for that key fob to be remembered when the door is locked with that key. The next time it unlocks the door, the seat is reset to that position if it isn't already there.
