Those looked like new wheels to me. Compared to Style 303, the double spokes are closer to each other and there's some curve/recession where the spokes meet the wheel rim.

What a beast! Just when you thought they couldnt make an m5 better looking than the E60 they do. The only downside is the weight.

You know those wheels won't be standard, I bet 19" standard color wheels will be standard and 20" black will be optional. I doubt we will see a carbon fiber roof, thats reserved for the M3 Coupe, sedans will always have moon roofs and 90% of people buying the M5 will want one.

So fuel effeciency is 25% better, wonder if that means the car weighs the same or less? or if that just means the twin turbo V8 and stop/start are saving the MPG. old M5 = 12/18, new M5 = 15/22? Not earth shattering, but if it can hit 0-60 in 4.0 thats pretty good for a big heavy car. CTS-V fanboys will say it fails compared to the CTS though (although real world MPG numbers on the CTS-V are nothing like their EPA ratings show, LOL)

Can't wait to see interior pics. My next car decision will be a tough one, I would love to get a sedan that hits 0-60 in 4.0, and gets over 20 mpg combined, not sure if the M5 can acheive both, Looks like the E63 might when it gets its new turbo engine. Or I might just keep in the 3 series/C Class size if either one has the sedan still for the next generation (BMW so far looks like a no).

Call me blind but I dont see how is this better than 550i with M Pack?
And dont even try to convince other that it has LSD and suspension that will make this thing stick to the road simply because you wont be tracking that heavy car. I thought BMW would be smart enough to give a boost over their regular line up which is obvious as well as aggressive stance that is exclusive only to M, I am sorry I don't see that. There is little hope that this is actually a prototype and not production that I expected to see. You're going down BMW.

the overall exterior looks very close the the current E90 M3. the front headlights, hood, and grill are crossed with a similar design for the current generation Z4. Overall I like the design. The only thing I do not like is the 20 inch wheels, IMO it's way too large and the 5 spoke star design doesn't fit on a large sedan.

I've been successful in beating MPG estimates with a manual transmission. I feel like autos are harder to use to try to squeeze out extra mpgs. My last car had a turbo, and with the turbo, I was able to squeeze out alot of extra mpgs on the highway by not spooling it up. Hence why the new M5 has turbos, it'll save a lot of gas. My guess is, you can probably get somewhere close to 25-27 mpg

Not feeling the black wheels too much...

Other than that... love it, love it, love it..

I will definitely be picking one up once the initial price hype is gone.

I generally like it, but I hate the lines on the hood. A subtle power dome would have been much better IMHO. That is one of the massive reasons the E90 M3 looks way better than the E90 3 series. I hate the hood on regular 3 as well.

They should get rid of the chrome around the side vent, the wheels and make a better diffuser. Those tail pipes also look very small for such a large rear. Are they just from the m3?

I'm looking very forward to see this car in action! Perhaps a few years down the road, it'll be my next car.

Good ideas. Plus those rims need to be changed, a 5 spoke doesn't look good on such a big sedan. And they should have made it a little more aggressive. Looks like the 550 a bit too much, and kinda like the E90 M3. Still a great car. We'll see...
