Just rolled over to 23k and ordered replacements which are about a month out so I should be at about 24k. I have seen varying mileage from 15k-25k just curious what's typical? I think I'm on the high end...maybe I've not been having enough fun lol

12k on mine. Ordered a gauge last week but have not used it yet. They look to be in ok shape. No burn outs, one track day, and driven hard.

Replaced the first set at 12K. Now I'm at 19K and front tires (MPSS 265/35/20) have 6-7/32" thread but the rear ones (MPSS 305/30/20) have less than 4/32"... and yeah I have always fun

Car is heavy, so most of the time if you drive it aggressively (in more than a straight line) you will wear the shoulders of the front tires down. I expect this is what you mean by "the fronts were pretty much gone"? Even so, 24K is really good if you are trying to stretch the life out of them. I'm sure you are already enjoying the better rubber layer of the new ones.

I'm thinking I will use this combination on my next purchase:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes I am already using the 295/35 spec Ferrari tire on the rear. I'm still using the 265 spec fronts, but I think I want a little more front end bite the next time so I will go to the 275 spec on the front. |

Mine are toast at 9800km (6000miles). LOL. I will limp them along for another month before I park the car for the winter.
But there are about 20 odd 20min track sessions on them.

I have 15k miles on mine so far when I look at the tires the outside edge does not have much left but the middle treads (3 lines and each have wear indicators) still have pretty good depth. Do you guys have the same experince that the outside edge show much less tread? Is it normal or time to replace new set?

Going to put PZeros on this time around - they should go on this morning. I won't lie... part of the decision came down to price and availability.
As I have had two sets of PSS and one set of Sottos for Winter, I will report back on what I think about the PZeros VS the PSS. In both cases the PSS have lasted for a long time (20k+ miles), but I have not always been impressed by the hot (>80 degree) day traction. I've had P-Zeros on the wife's F-Type and know how they feel as they break away in that car....curious to see if it is a similar confidence feeling in a heavier and longer wheelbase car like the M5. |

I have P Zero's with 10K miles on them. Half of the tread is left and they still hook fairly well except when wet and cold.

It was an exceptionally minor one....toe in and camber with me tossing the 2 ton M5 through some pretty aggressive corners at speed on a regular basis I'm sure contributed just as much. but I got good use out of the tires.
The two valleys left of the inner edge are on wear bars as well so the wear was not entirely uneven. Had the same on the other tire...almost perfect mirror. |
